The Ahlen-based law firm Gosda, Havighorst und Huster was forced to relocate after years in a building in the historic part of the town that lacked space, was in much need of renovation and made parking difficult for clients. Using a regional construction company, a modern, two-floor clinker house was built to KfW 70 energy efficiency standard. The new building for the law firm offers convenient transport links, 30 parking spaces, a fast charging point for electric cars and boasts a direct fibre-optic connection.
For the interiors, the law firm decided to call in the pros from projekt k to break open the compact, conventional construction and optimise the office structure to ensure that the floor space of 550 square metres was a perfect fit for the workings of the law firm.
The centrepiece of the fully accessible interior is a rounded free-standing plasterboard structure that guides people all around it and contains functional spaces inside it. In places where confidentiality is required, the structure is closed and offers space for internal file storage. In places that are busier and used for exchanging ideas and conversation, the structure is opened up – either by inserting a coffee bar or setting up an area for sealing and stitching.
The office and conference structure around it is transparent and flooded with light through glass partitions. At the same time, the high sound insulation levels of our glass partition walls ensure the necessary discretion.
Acoustically effective wall panels boast designs compiled especially for the law firm by a local photographer, providing an elegant finish.
In addition to the overall design concept, including lighting and acoustics planning, we supplied glass partitions, customised fixtures such as reception counters and small kitchens, various fixed furniture and mobile furniture for the conference and open-plan areas. The result is modern, inviting offices and meeting rooms flooded with light and offering state-of-the-art presentation technology with a view outside onto terrace gardens.
